Rotary Club of Lochaber Annual Christmas Festival 2018

For another year running Ferguson Transport & Shipping are delighted to sponsor The Lochaber Christmas Festival – we will again be covering the costs of The Cairngorm Reindeer Team and sleigh to attend the Christmas Festival organised for the 11th year running by the Rotary Club of Lochaber.

Ferguson Transport & Shipping spent the afternoon last week with The Rotary Club of Lochaber reading and assessing poems in order to choose the winning elves who will ride along with the reindeer – choosing the winners was a hugely difficult task as always there was some fantastic entries from many talented young people.
Winning the Christmas Card message competition are 6-year old Aine MacPhie from Mallaig Primary, and David Rodgers, age 9, from the Gaelic Primary in Caol. David and Aine will ride on Santa’s sleigh, pulled by the Cairngorm reindeer, from Cameron Square to the Nevis Centre, leaving at 11am.

The annual Christmas Festival is a fun day out for all the family – this year it will kick off with Santa & his Reindeer leaving from Cameron Square at 10am on Saturday Morning leading on to a day of festive fun at the Nevis Centre.

A packed programme of performances by local musicians has been arranged. Acts include the Tulloch Bellringers, Kilmallie Singers, Community Wind Band, Kinlochleven RocksKool, the Ancient Mariners, the Great Glen Swing Band, the D-Mac joint choir and Gaelic Primary school choir.
Rotary past President David Thomson, a musician himself, has co-ordinated the event. He said “It is a good, varied and very entertaining line-up. It will add to the range of activities at the festival making for a great family day out!”

Ferguson Transport & Shipping are once again delighted to continue this year as main sponsor for the Rotary Club of Lochaber’s 11th Annual Christmas Festival. The event, as always, promises to be a great success building on previous years successes.
