Ferguson Transport & Shipping are currently recruiting for a Marine Superintendent to deliver effective and efficient safety management for our fleet of 6 vessels. The successful candidate will have responsibility for full compliance with statutory and maritime regulations, and implementing and maintaining the health, safety, environmental and quality standards on-board.
The Marine Superintendent will be expected to lead by example, working closely with crew and shore staff to monitor and enhance operational performance and minimise risks.
Based in Corpach, Fort William, the role requires frequent travel to attend on-board our vessels based around the West Coast of Scotland.
Ideally applicants will hold and STCW II/2 CoC and have served as Master or Chief Officer, or have previous experience as a Marine Superintendent operating small cargo ships and workboats.
Salary is dependent on experience.
SHORE BASED MARINE ENGINEER
An opportunity has become available to join our marine maintenance team. Duties will include undertaking inspections, planned maintenance, dry docking of our self-discharge bulk coastal vessel, 2 large landing crafts and 3 workboats.
The successful candidate must have marine engineering experience and ideally a Second or Chief Engineers ticket.
Shore based at Corpach or Kyle of Lochalsh area. Travelling will be expected and also sailing with the vessel at times as well as overnight stays and weekend work on rota as and when required.

MARINE SERVICE MAINTENANCE ADMINISTRATOR
Based in Corpach Fort William. The successful candidate is required to have an engineering qualification, preferably in the Marine Sector, and must be IT competent. Excellent communication skills are essential as the position involves working as part of a very busy team.
This is a dual role – both practical and administrative. Responsibilities will include the administration of planned maintenance and inspections for our 6 vessels, arranging service schedules, sourcing and ordering parts, stores/stock checks, handling breakdown calls and communicating the relevant information to our marine engineering team.
The successful candidate will also be required to assist with practical engineering work/projects as and when necessary. Rota on-call cover is a requirement of this position.
