Introducing our Fifth Vessel the Leslie Anne
The Leslie Anne is the new big sister vessel to our current workboats, The Harvest Anne, Jodie Anne and Carhie Anne. She is a multipurpose workboat, support vessel and landing craft capable of carrying 110 tonnes.
The Leslie Anne was purchased in April 2014 and spent some time in the Corpach Canal Basin being re-fitted to meet Ferguson Transport & Shipping’s needs, which included fitting her out with a new crane, similar to our other workboats.
The vessel is fitted with a ro-ro system and has a self-discharge crane on board, allowing greater versatility. The Leslie Anne sleeps up to six persons, but operates under normal working conditions with a crew of between 3-4. The vessel has a faster top speed than its sister vessels
Ex-MOD, the Leslie Anne is still currently sailing in her “camouflage” colours, although she will soon go to McDuff shipyard to be painted in the Ferguson Transport & Shipping livery colours.
Currently, the vessel is hard at work delivering supplies to St Kilda, a job which means she is required to land equipment onto the beach, a task which she is well suited for.
As well as ad-hoc jobs and private hires, the Leslie Anne will assist our other vessels in carrying out the Marine Harvest contract, delivering feed to all fish farms on the West Coast of Scotland.
The Leslie Anne can carry up to two artic vehicles, and has recently gone through loading and unloading trials.
